Mbewa Self-Help Project
The Mbewa Self-Help Project (UK) was constituted on 26 February 2012 as a Very Small Charity under UK Charity Commission regulations.
This classification is for charities with annual income up to £5,000 that do not have premises or staff.
The purposes of the charity are:
To provide support to projects with charitable purposes in the village of Mbewa, Malawi run by Madalitso Community Based Organisation or other suitable organisations.
All funds collected by the Mbewa Self-Help Project (UK) are transferred to Madalitso CBO or to suppliers of services or equipment on its behalf.
As a Very Small Charity, Mbewa Self-Help Project (UK) does not have a charity registration number. However, it is able to register with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs to receive tax back on donations made by UK tax payers as Gift Aid.
Madalitso CBO is a Malawian organisation registered with Mulanje District Social Welfare Office, operated by an elected Project Committee of volunteers.
